5 Tacos & Tokes in San Diego

January 7, 2026

Take Taco Tuesday to the next level by visiting some of our favorite taco stops in San Diego, and enjoying these complementary cannabis pairings.

Being so close to the border of Mexico, San Diego is blessed with some of the best taco restaurants in the country. If you’re anything like us, we enjoy a nice smoke sesh before sitting down to grub out.

The perfect cannabis pairings start with an understanding of terpenes - you know, those aromatic and tasty naturally occurring compounds that truly make cannabis unique. Terpenes are also present in food including citrus fruits, tomatoes and herbs.

Few things go better together than cannabis and food. Take Taco Tuesday to the next level by visiting some of our favorite taco stops in San Diego, and enjoying these complementary cannabis pairings.

Lola 55 - Baja-style fish taco

In a city that sets the bar for fish tacos, Lola 55’s battered fish taco prepared baja-style brings the heat. Typically served on the side, a squeeze of lime is all you need to top off your taco. For this pairing we suggest strains that have a limonene-dominant terpene profile to add a citrusy element.

Taco Stand - Al Pastor Taco

Something sweet is always a nice balance to something savory. Perfectly placed pineapple sits atop the rotisserie marinated pork taco at the Taco Stand and it’s the pineapple for us when it comes to this cannabis pairing. Try a strain with notes of pine, citrus and earthy aromas to help bring out the flavors in this al pastor taco.

City Tacos - Chile Relleno

This vegetarian taco from City Tacos is the perfect combination of crunch on the outside and soft and cheesy on the inside. Heighten your enjoyment of the cheese flavors in this taco with a cheesy cannabis strain.

Puesto - Chicken Mole Taco

Puesto's braised jidori chicken in a chocolate-based mole sauce is layered with flavor that’s surprisingly not too sweet. For this cannabis pairing, stick with strains that taste a little chocolatey to take this taco experience to the next level.

Mariscos Mi Gusto Es - Camaron (Shrimp) Tacos

Fresh delicious shrimp topped with homemade salsas inside a warm tortilla make this seafood taco truck your next destination after visiting March and Ash. Conveniently located next to our newest location in City Heights, it takes only one stop to grab the bud that goes best with tacos.
